SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Chin State, faily widespread in Magway and Yangon Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regional heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Mon States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan and Rakhine States States, (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay and Magway Regions, (8°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, (3°C) above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (36°C) each in Hkantim, Homalin, Taungdwingyi, Hmawbi (Agro) and Myeik. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (9.92)inches, Mudon (3.35)inches, Meikhtila (3.15)inches, Taungkok (3.07)inches, Belin (2.99)inches, Kyeikkhame and Coco Island (2.84)inches each, Gwa (2.72)inches, Hpa-an (2.68)inches, Manaung (2.60)inches, Thaton (2.56)inches, Paung (2.52)inches, Magway and Pyay (2.47) inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (13:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over East Central Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is strong in the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 21th May, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.
