SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Yangon Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States, 2°C below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and 3°C below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 43.6°C in Aunglan, 42.1°C in Zaung Tu, 41.6°C in Pyay, 41.4°C each in Chauk and Myawaddy, 41.3°C in Magway, 41.0°C each in Minbu and Hinthada, 40.9°C in Shwekyin and 40.8°C in Ngathaichaung on 5-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.58 inches in Yangon (Botahtaung), 1.30 inches in Bhamo, 1.14 inches in Hakha, 1.02 inches in Katha, 0.98 inch in Shwegu, 0.87 inch in Falam, 0.70 inch in Kalay, 0.67 inch in Tiddim, 0.63 inch in Tongzan and 0.59 inch in Kyangin(Seiktha).

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
