SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and isolated in Magway Region and Mon State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and 2°C below May average temperature in Magway Region and about May average temperatures in remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 41.8°C in Zaung Tu, 41.4°C in Tharrawady, 41.3°C in Khayan, 41.2°C in Myawaddy, 41.0°C each in Pyay, Hinthada and Ngathaichaung, 40.9°C in Aunglan, 40.7°C in Bago and 40.4°C each in Shwekyin and Hmawbi on 4-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.51 inch in Kyaukse, 0.39 inch in Hkamti, 0.24 inch each in Tiddim, Tongzan and Nyaunglaybin, 0.19 inch each in Mogoke and Chaungsone, 0.16 inch each in Kyaukmae, Pinlaung, Kalay and Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and 0.11 inch each in Falam, Mawlaik, Tamu and Taungdwingyi.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather is partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
