SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past
(24) hours, Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the Central Myanmar Areas and
North Bay of Bengal. Weather has been partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region, rain or
thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon Region and Kayah State, fairly
widespread in Bago Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Mandalay and
Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining
Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Bawlakhae
(2.09) inches, Myaungmya (1.97) inches, Coco Island (1.64) inches, Myitkyina
(1.49) inches, Nyaung Oo and Maubin (1.42) inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 6th June, 2015: Rain or
thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Sagaing,
Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon
States and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States.
Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar water.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in the
Rakhine coasts.
