SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin States and isolated in Mon State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 4°C below February average temperature in Rakhine State, 2°C below February average temperature in Chin State and 2°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, 3°C above February average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State, 5°C above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 2.3°C in Hakha, 6.2°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 7.5°C in Heho, 7.8°C each in Pyinoolwin and Loilin, 8.8°C in Tiddim, 10.1°C in Pinlaung, 10.2°C in Myitkyina, 11.0°C in Putao, 12.0°C in Mongyang and 12.5°C in Sittwe. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.59 inch in Myawaddy, 0.39 inch in Kawthaung, 0.20 inch each in Putao and Hpa-an, 0.16 inch in Hpa-an (Agro-Met), 0.12 inch each in Dawei and Kawkareik and 0.08 inch each in Hkamti, Myeik, Machanbaw, Ye and Kengtung.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th February 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Kayah, Southern Shan States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
