27-5-2024:According to the observations at (18:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” which has crossed to the interior of Bangladesh and has moved North-North eastwards and continous crossing the interior regions of the Southwest of Dhaka (Bangladesh). Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

32nd National Monsoon Forum

 

The opening ceremony of 32nd National Monsoon Forum 2024 was held in Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, Nay Pyi Taw organized by Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), Ministry of Transport and Communications on 6th May 2024. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Kyaw Moe Oo, Director General of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology delivered the opening remarks.

Departmental representatives from Disaster Management, Agriculture Department, Water and other related Departments and participants from Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, a total of about 70 attended this forum.

The forum was discussed on the reviewing of seasonal outlook for the Weather and Water Level forecasts in 2024 Rainy Season (Southwest Monsoon Period), condition of Agro-meteorology, Terms and Terminology of Meteorology, Seismic Disaster in Myanmar, presenting on sectorial lessons learned during 2023-2034 Winter Season (Northeast Monsoon Period) and sectorial preparedness for 2024 Southwest Monsoon Season and discussing on suggestions for seasonal weather forecasts.
